Menerbes is a typical medieval Provençal village, sprawling on its rock like a stranded ship a few cable lengths from the lovely Luberon mountain. The architecture of old Ménerbes is one of the Luberon's, most striking examples, earning it a place among the "Most Beautiful Villages in France".
Seduced by its ancient houses like le Castellet, la Citadelle and Hôtel Trigny..., an astonishing number of artists, painters and writers have lived here ( Picasso, Dora Maar, Nicolas de Staël, Peter Mayle, Jane Eakin..).
Ménerbes forms part of a marvellous mosaic of landscapes that offer the whole Provençal range of views, colors and smells. Each village more beautiful than the last - with its living traditions to mark it as special. History is everywhere surrounded by a vibrant rural lifestyle.
All these facets help to give the Vaucluse its irresistible, contemplative attraction.
Provence, Luberon, Ménerbes,..... Simply not to  be missed.
